Field sales and van sales software for distributors in Nigeria

Offline-first field sales execution for Nigerian drinks and FMCG distributors. Verified outlet visits, van sales and order capture on the Android phones reps already carry.

Currently in production with a spirits distributor in Nigeria.

OutletIQ is field sales execution software for distributors in Nigeria. Reps run their route on an offline-first Android app, clock into the outlet with GPS verification, run the audit, take the order and move on. Managers see coverage, a review queue of flagged visits with photo evidence, every order with a server-side total, and approvals through to a signed purchase order PDF.

It is currently in production with a spirits distributor in Nigeria, which is why the product assumes what Nigerian field conditions actually are: patchy signal, shared low-end Android handsets that reps own themselves, and a real need to prove a visit happened.

Built for the route

What the Nigerian field operation needs.

Four things, in the order they cause trouble.

Zero bars is a normal day

Offline-first, not offline-tolerant. The app runs on a local database and queues every action in an outbox that syncs when signal returns. A full day off-network loses nothing.

The rep owns the phone

Bring-your-own-device on everyday Android. No hardware rollout, and deliberately light on data and storage because the rep is paying for the bundle.

A visit has to be provable

Geofence, 30-minute dwell, mock-GPS detection and location-fix density, cross-checked on every visit. Failures are flagged with the reason and the photo evidence, not silently counted.

Stock and cash have to reconcile

Van sales and pre-sales both run through the same record. Totals come from the server price book, orders export to CSV, and purchase orders run a multi-stage approval chain to PDF.

Three vendors market distributor and field sales automation into Nigeria and the wider African market. Each description below is taken from that vendor’s own website, checked on 13 September 2026 and linked underneath.

Bizom

Describes itself as a retail intelligence platform for consumer goods, with sales force automation, a distributor management system and a retailer app, plus trade promotion management, beat optimisation and shelf analytics. Strong, broad and built for large CPG estates. Pricing is not published.

FieldAssist

Markets AI-led sales and distribution across sales force automation, a distribution management system, van sales automation, retail merchandising, a retailer app and loyalty, with route optimisation and image recognition on top. It states an Africa presence and a wide industry list. Pricing is not published.

BeatRoute

Calls itself Africa’s favourite SFA and DMS platform, with sales force automation, distributor management, a retailer app, zero-code configuration and a set of AI agents for scheduling, ordering and audits. It lists FMCG and liquor among its industries. Pricing is not published.

Where OutletIQ fits against them

All three are capable platforms with far broader module lists than OutletIQ, and for a national CPG estate running hundreds of distributors that breadth is the point.

OutletIQ is the narrower option for a single distributor that wants outlet-level execution it can trust, live quickly, on the phones the reps already carry. The whole product is one operation: the route, the verified visit, the audit, the order at a price the handset cannot change, free stock and promotional compliance, and the approval chain behind them.

It is also the only one of the four with a live Nigerian spirits deployment behind the product decisions rather than a regional landing page.

Van sales and pre-sales on one route

A van sales app has to handle the stock on board as well as the order at the counter. OutletIQ keeps the load-out, the visit, the order and the reconciliation on the same record, so the day closes against what actually left the warehouse.

Journey plans that survive Lagos traffic

Routes are assigned by HQ or built by the rep, with week and month plan views, nearest-unvisited suggestions and per-day distance estimates.

Field force automation without a hardware project

No handsets to buy, no signal assumptions, no per-rep device management. The rollout is an app install and a price book.

Questions

Field sales software in Nigeria, asked and answered.

What is a van sales app?

A van sales app runs the sell-from-stock model, where the rep carries inventory in the vehicle and sells, invoices and delivers at the outlet on the same visit. It handles the load-out, the stock on board, the order taken at the counter and the reconciliation at the end of the route.

What is a distributor management system?

A distributor management system records what happens between a manufacturer and its distributors: stock held, secondary sales into outlets, claims and schemes. Field sales execution software sits next to it and records what happens between the distributor and the outlet, visit by visit.

Which field sales software is used in Nigeria?

The names that come up most often in Nigerian evaluations are Bizom, FieldAssist and BeatRoute, all of which market distributor and field automation into Africa. OutletIQ is a smaller, more focused option, currently in production with a spirits distributor in Nigeria.

Does OutletIQ work with poor network coverage?

Yes. The rep app is offline-first. It runs on a local database and queues every action in an outbox that syncs when connectivity returns, so a rep can work a full day with no signal and lose nothing.

Do reps need company phones?

No. OutletIQ is bring-your-own-device on everyday Android and is deliberately light on data and storage, which matters when the rep is paying for their own bundle.

How does it stop reps faking outlet visits?

Four signals are cross-checked on every visit: GPS geofencing at the outlet, a 30-minute dwell check, mock-GPS detection and location-fix density. A visit that fails any of them is flagged with its reason and sent to the manager review queue with the photo evidence, rather than counting as coverage.

Can reps change prices or create duplicate orders?

No. Order totals are recomputed server-side from the price book, so the handset never sets a price, and submissions are idempotent so a weak connection cannot create a duplicate order.

What does OutletIQ cost in Nigeria?

It is quoted per operation. Team size and rollout scope move the number. The quote covers contract terms, support, hosting and data export.
